    INTINERARY Inca Jungle Trail to Machu Picchu 4 Days

    DAY 1 CUSCO – SANTA MARÍA (DOWNHILL BY BICYCLE)

    We will pick you up at 7:00 a.m. from your hotel and then we will go to Ollantaytambo where we will stop to have breakfast, then we will continue in our car for 3 hours to the starting point of the bicycles called the “Airport” on our way we will pass through the Abra Malaga 4,316 masl. At the “airport” you will receive safety instructions from your guide and then he will provide you with the complete equipment necessary for this activity.

    We will begin the descent by bicycle for 3 hours (55km) to the town of Huamanmarca, then we will go to the town of Santa María (30 minutes by car) where we will have our first lunch; We will spend our first night in a basic lodging, during the trip we will experience the beauty of the snow-capped mountains, changing rapidly from dry and cold weather to hot and humid. Once we arrive in Santa María we will have the option of doing Rafting class III and IV (extra tour) in the Urubamba River that crosses this part of the jungle.

    DAY 2 SANTA MARIA – SANTA TERESA (HIKE)

    After a delicious breakfast, at 6:30 am. approx. we will be ready to do the first day of hiking towards Santa Teresa. The first two hours of our tour will be uphill, along the way we will have several stops to learn a little more about the rich flora and fauna of the area where we will find ourselves, one of them will be in a family home where we will we will relax for about 20 minutes here we can also stock up on water and rich tropical fruits from the area, later we will cross a section of the Inca Trail that formerly connected the sacred Inca city of Machupicchu with the city of Vilcabamba here your guide will explain a little more about the history of the Incas and also the communication system they had in those times, from this place we will also have the most impressive views of the entire Huancarccasa canyon, then we will descend to the town of Quellomayo where we will stop for lunch.

    After a delicious lunch and a refreshing rest in our hammocks, we will continue with the last 02 hours of walking to the thermal baths of Cocalmayo where we will have a good time to enjoy this very special place, after the thermal baths We will go to our final destination, the town of Santa Teresa, where we will spend our second night in a basic lodging.

    DAY 3 SANTA TERESA – AGUAS CALIENTES (ZIP LINE OR CANOPY – OPTIONAL)

    After our breakfast, at 7:00 am. approx. We will start our walk towards the town of Aguas Calientes, first we will walk for 3 hours through the Acobamba valley to the sector called Intihuatana where we will pass a small government control then continue to Inka Rakay where we will enjoy our lunch on this journey we will see a series of waterfalls and we will also have the opportunity to contemplate the majestic Machupicchu and Waynapicchu mountains as well as the Intihuatana or sundial that will be seen at the top of the mountain and other constructions of the Inca citadel of Machupicchu after the last 3 hours of walking will be next to the railway line to the town of Aguas Calientes.

    DAY 4 AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – RETURN TO CUSCO

    On this day you will have two options to visit Machu Picchu 1) It is to continue walking for 1 hour and a half through an ascending path with several stairs until you reach the entrance of the citadel 2) Buy your ticket bus that has a value of 12 dollars for the ascent or 24 dollars for the ascent and descent. Once in Machu Picchu 2,490 m you will have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, then you will have enough time to continue exploring the citadel on your own; at that time you can go to the Inti Punku (gate of the sun)

    After your visit to Machu Picchu you will have to return to the town of Aguas Calientes so that you can have lunch, you will be able to find many restaurants and you will be able to choose the one of your preference. After your lunch you will have to go to the train station and board it for approximately 1 and 30 minutes to the Ollantaytambo station, there the transport will be waiting for you with your name and you will be transferred to the City of Cusco the trip lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately.

    We pick you up from your hotel at 3am, then we go to our destination which will be the community of “PACCHANTA”, which is located near the snowy “Ausangate”, which is at 4200 meters above sea level.     We will return to the community of “PACCHANTA” where we will enjoy the hot springs and our lunch, then we will return to Cusco, after this wonderful experience.

    Physical Fitness:

    The Inca jungle is certainly not easy, but you do not have to be an athlete or trekking expert to take this tour. Your physical condition is of course important since it will allow you to carry out all the activities within the tour and thus you will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscape along the way. If you don’t exercise regularly, it’s a good idea to take extra walks or some type of aerobic activity in the months leading up to your trip.     How long is the descent on the bikes and what is it like?

    The descent on the bicycles lasts approximately 3 hours. It is important to make you aware that the downhill part of the bike can be a bit dangerous, especially if you do not have much practice in downhill cycling. If this descent is too dangerous for you, you can stay on the car until the rest of the group reaches the bottom of the descent. It should be noted that all our bicycles are in good condition and are equipped with hydraulic brakes. We provide all the safety equipment.

    What activity can I do if I don’t want to go rafting?

    Where to store your stuff?:

    You can leave or store the things that you will not take on the Inca Trail at the hotel or hostel where you are staying. Most of these establishments have warehouses where they will store your things. If you do not trust the place where you are staying, we will gladly store your belongings in our office.
